No partner or experience needed — just curiosity. Four Thursdays that take you from the doorway to the dance floor.
1. WEEK ONE
The Four Elements
Your introduction to Argentine tango and the four elements the entire dance is built on — walking front, side, and back, plus the pivot. We also begin the sequence we'll use to teach you all of them.
2. WEEK TWO
The Salida Básica
The salida básica, the first taste of dancing it to the music, and how to dance in open embrace and the fundamentals you need to move confidently together.
1. WEEK three
A New Element
We return to the sequence and complete it. Every series is unique here — we dive into a new element together: the sanguchito, a parada and pasada, or a small rebound.
2. WEEK four
Connection & Códigos
The heart of it: how lead and follow actually communicate. More musicality, more tools for the social floor, and the códigos of the milongas of Buenos Aires.
Please indicate your role during checkout so we can keep the class balanced.
Leader — traditionally the male role.
Follower — traditionally the female role.
We ask everyone to select one role to start, and we encourage exploring both over time for a more complete understanding of the dance.
No partner?
Come alone. We rotate partners throughout class — that's how everyone learns fastest.
No experience?
None needed. There is no prerequisite. If you can walk, you can dance.
What to wear?
Comfortable clothes and shoes you can pivot in — never backless. Leather soles are ideal, but any smooth sole works. If you'd like to wear a heel, choose one with an ankle strap.
What happens after?
The open práctica runs 8–10 PM right after class, included. That's where it becomes dancing.
